In 2021, the count of individuals ensnared in modern slavery witnessed a substantial increase of 10 million compared to the global estimates of 2016. A glaring imbalance remains, with women and children bearing the brunt of vulnerability. The specter of modern slavery casts its shadow across nearly every nation, disregarding distinctions of ethnicity, culture, and faith. Over half of all cases of coerced labor and a quarter of forced marriages are pervasive within upper-middle or affluent nations
